Betsi Oris: On to glory!

Dear Word of Life Family:

We are writing to share the difficult news that our dear sister, Betsi Oris (Jack Wyrtzen's daughter), unexpectedly went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 7th here in Schroon Lake. Please keep her children, grandchildren, and entire family in your prayers as they travel here to Schroon Lake in the coming hours and days.

Thanks, in advance, for your loving and prayerful support of Betsi's family and friends.

Update: Betsy Oris Service Arrangements

  • Visitation will be at Mountainside on Friday, Nov. 13, 6:00 to 8:00 pm
  • The service will be held at the Jack Wyrtzen Center, Word of Life Bible Institute, Pottersville, on Saturday, Nov. 14, 10:00 am

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation in Betsy's name to Word of Life International Ministries, P.O. Box 600, Schroon Lake, NY 12870 or Mountainside Christian Academy, 165 US Route 9, Schroon Lake, NY 12870.

Please continue to keep Betsy's family in prayer.

1.)Jonthan Crosby Adcock is in East Asia this whole summer with Campus Crusade,last year he was in Ocean City ,NJ and got to experience ministry on the board walk .He is a senior at Ball State in Muncie,Indiana and has plans for seminary .He has studied media technology these years and makes gospel related videos and short films now.Please pray for his older sister far from God and unsaved--2).Michael met and Married a wonderful woman from West Virgina who worked in her churches children ministry --she has a clown ministry --and is a professional hairdresser /pedicurist.If you are in Richmond,Indiana area and knew either Michael or his deceased former spouse Nancy ,please contact us we would love to visit with you ... Hi all! It's been a while since I've posted here. I'm still living in Guatemala (since 2002) and am married (since 05) and have a son named Alex (2 yrs old) and a daughter named Megan (7 months). I work part time with a ministry called Strategy of Transformation (www.estrategiadetransformacion.com). Okay... I'm a slacker for not being regular here on the Alum page. After 11 great years with Siemens, they followed the path many other firms have had to take and among others, was laid off from my job on April 26,2009. We take this as a signal from the Lord that there are changes in the works for our lives, and anything He changes is always for the good of us and others. We are open to a relocation back to our 'home' area in Pennsylvania. My wife Becky remains the consummate landscaper around our home in Braselton, GA. She continues to take care of her household chores, write material for our book on end-times Biblical prophecy, and writes songs as God gives them to her. Any BI colleagues are invited to call, mail, or stop by.

I was washing dishes at a restaurant & supervising at an elementary after-school program for five months until about a month ago: living downtown, wishing I was in ministry.

My wife and I are excited about our new business adventure, a lake front Bed & Breakfast. Construction is nearing completion and potential guests are already trying to schedule a stay. God is good and we are looking forward to seeing how the Lord can use this to reach the lost for Him. Please pray that we will uphold a good testimony in front our guests and that we will have the opportunity to share the gospel with them. We plan on advertising with the slogan: “A new place for old fashion hospitality.” Looking back, we now realize the time we spent serving at the Word of Life Inn has helped prepare us for our own hospitality ministry.
