Update on Dr Davis and More
Hey Alumni,

It is great to see the growth of the new Facebook group, if you have not joined our group yet it is called 'Word of Life Bible Institute Alumni'. My desire is that this tool be used to help connect and communicate.

1. Connect - The best way to grow this group is to leverage each individuals networks. By each of us inviting all the alumni in our network to the group, this may help others to reconnect. I apologize to those that joined the group early on and have already done this. Your work is what helped the group to grow so quickly - THANK YOU.

2. Communicate - Some of you have been praying for Dr Davis, one of our in house professors at our NY campus. Here is an update from him:

Susie and I along with our whole family want to thank you for your outpouring of concern and prayers in our recent trials. The “I am praying for Dr. Davis” Face Book forum has over 1100 members.

I'm doing very well. On 12/31/2007 the doctor told me that the damage to the heart was probably minimal. They will do a stress test in 3 months to check. I have no restrictions (other than "heart-healthy" eating & standard heart meds) and have gotten my stationary bike riding up to 10 miles per day with no fatigue.

The Lord had already graciously given me a light teaching schedule during the Winter Quarter. This week I taught and worked a regular 40-hour week and feel fine.

We are glad to be alive, still able to minister and fellowship with God’s people. We are open to any correction, pruning, stretching and testifying to God’s sufficiency in times of stress. Mostly we are amazed at the army of brothers and sisters that God brings to help and encourage in time of need.

God Bless,
Dr. Davis

We are in the midst of setting the dates for our alumni gatherings at Liberty, Cedarville, Baptist Bible (PA), and Lancaster Bible in early March. We look forward to seeing you at one of these gatherings.

Alumni Gathering in Orlando
Last night we had a small gathering of Alumni in Orlando Florida.  A great night of Basketball with the Magic and the Detroit Pistons, and approximately 3000 students from churches across Central Florida.  Tom Phillips from Word of Life Florida gave the gospel presentation after the message and scores of young people accepted Christ as Savior.  It was great to hear the stories of Alumni and their own Superbowl experiences along with some Alumni reminiscing about touring with Jack Wyrtzen and Harry Bollback as collegians.  I am looking forward to our next gathering in Philadelphia on November 16th.

Wendy Williamson's Father Passes

Wendy?s (WOLBI Alumni - Communications Coordinator) dad, Phil Williamson, went home to be with Lord early this week after struggling prostate, bladder and bone cancer.  He is with Jesus and pain free!   Wendy?s mom also has just had gall bladder surgery.  Please continue to pray for the family during this difficult time and as they make the funeral arrangements.
