MAJOR MATT TEMPLE – ARMY CHAPLAIN
“We're in Kuwait and will be moving north to Iraq in 2 weeks. At that time I'll download my gear and I'll have the Quiet Time's I sent ahead. My plan will be to distribute them to as many soldiers as I can and get them going. Also, I'm planning to use them for Bible studies across our Battalion. A Bible study leader will have the QT and lead other soldiers with it. Thanks so much for your support of me and our soldiers. I'm praying for God's power to be at work among us.”
MAJOR DAN SMITH – ARMY CHAPLAIN
“I appreciate your willingness to provide our battalion soldiers with
Bibles and Quiet Times for our upcoming deployment to Iraq. I have been a pastor for the last 27 years, the last 22 years at Vermontville Bible Church, in Vermontville, Michigan and I have been a Michigan Army National Guard chaplain for the past 18 years. In December, I was activated to be mobilized with the 648th Engineer Battalion, part of the 48th brigade, at Fort Stewart, Georgia. After several months of training, we are scheduled to be deployed to Iraq for a year. Opportunities for ministry are abounding. I conduct several worship services each Sunday, some usually with the troops in the field, a mid week Bible study and numerous counseling sessions each week. In addition, I am going through the exact training everyone else is, with the exception of weapons training. We have seen several come to Christ in the past few weeks, and it is vital that we provide them with a Bible, and Quiet Time to help them grow. I have spoken to several Chaplains coming back from deployments in Iraq, and they speak of God working in many hearts. We appreciate your ministry! Our church has used Word of Life Clubs for many years, which has helped to disciple all four of my children. Thanks for what you folks do at WOL, it is very much appreciated. I am so grateful for your generosity.”
CAPTAIN RICHARD ANDERSON – AIR FORCE CHAPLAIN
“My ministry involves serving those special tactic operators who support OEF and OIF. As part of the Air Force Special Operations Command, Special Operations Wing, I serve individuals on the tip of the spear. Needless to say, I cannot go into details due to operational security measures. The Bibles and Quiet Time’s you folks so graciously provide will be distributed to those operators who desire to have them as part of their spiritual growth and development. As you're aware, daily devotionals and journaling nurtures one's spiritual life. God is at work here, we are imbedded with our respective units, visiting, counseling, PTing, etc... with them. Recently, I conducted a field worship service for some of our special tactics operators, sharing communion, as well as devotional literature with them. Approx. 30 individuals attended the service and participated in the worship and communion service. We support both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, so the donations of Quiet Times and Bibles will benefit the personnel serving in both these operations. Thank you for your willingness to spread the Word, especially to our service personnel.”
